The Who Items
The Who History
The Who were formed in 1964 after changing their name from The Detours. In April of 1964 Keith Moon (drums), joined Pete Townshend (guitar), Roger Daltrey (vocals) and John Entwistle (bass guitar) and the classic Who line up was formed. On the 7th of September 1978 drummer Keith Moon died in his sleep after overdosing on the drug Heminevrin which he had been prescribed to help conquer alcohol withdrawal. The group went on to sell over 100 million records and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame in 1990.
